Evidence based, medically developed and approved, the goal of Phase 1 is to empty the body’s reserves of carbohydrates so that it can begin to burn its reserve of excess fat, all the while remaining alert and vigorous through muscle-building and organ-protecting Ideal Protein products and other acceptable protein foods, e.g. eggs, lean meats, poultry, fish and seafood.

It is a designed transitional phase to increase calories from selected whole foods. Phase 2 mirrors Phase 1 routine in most aspects with the exception that client selects a whole food protein meal for lunch. During Phase 2, the client consumes one less Ideal Protein food packet per day. The purpose is to slowly increase metabolic rate while boosting digestive process.

Phase 3 is often referred to as the most important phase. Phase 3 is not a weight loss phase; clients are on a phase that maintains their weight. Selected carbohydrates are re-introduced in a limited amount in Phase 3 "to wake up the pancreas." Clients will re-charge their glycogen during this phase and slowly train the pancreas to produce the correct amount of insulin in response to the intake of complex carbohydrates.
