Many people have issues with eating when stressed, I find that finding another outlet like walking or yoga is a great way to relive stress and it’s great for your body.
It’s important to be mindful when you are dealing with stress or stressful situations, don’t be afraid to acknowledge it and know that unhealthy food options are not the answer. Meditation is a great way to relieve stress, take 5 minutes and try some breathing exercises, slowly breathing in for a count of 4 and releasing your breath for a count of 5. It’s amazing how just taking the time to steady your breath and concentrating can relieve your stress levels. This may not work for everyone but don’t give up try meditating by closing your eyes and taking some deep breaths releasing the negativity that you are dealing with.

Indulge in physical activity. Physical exercise can be used as a surrogate to metabolize the excessive stress hormones and restore your body and mind to a calmer, more relaxed state. Go for a brisk walk in fresh air. Make it into your daily routine on a regular basis, either before or after work, or at lunchtime. Regular physical activity will also improve the quality of your sleep.
Talk to someone about how you feel can be helpful. Talking can work by either distracting you from your stressful thoughts or releasing some of the built-up tension by discussing it. Stress can cloud your judgement and prevent you from seeing things clearly. Talking things through with a friend, work colleague, or even a trained professional, can help you find solutions to your stress and put your problems into perspective. There are also apps available online on how to deal with stress.
